Nothing on the house yet. We have an open house on Sunday, and we hope that it might spark some interest due to this article.

True, it's a puff piece. But it is everything we moved here for.
We have an open house tomorrow. I hope my house will find its new owners soon.
Tonight we went to the auction to benefit the music program of our beloved preschool, Playhouse in West Orange. We won a ridiculous amount of stuff for the first time in the five years we've been a Playhouse family. But mostly I loved talking to all my kids' beloved teachers, to the current families, to the families that haven't had a Playhouse-aged child for a long time but keep coming back because of the community, the love, the teachers, and Jeannie (who I made spill a glass of wine tonight when I hugged her).
It is gonna kill me to leave Playhouse, but every one of the Playhouse folks tonight were so excited for us and our new family adventure. Sometimes it takes a night like tonight to put things in prospective for me.
We are moving to Los Angeles.
Although LA has extremely high house prices and crappy air quality, the weather is beautiful and the people are easy going and friendly and lovely. Most importantly, Evan has a job in LA, and although we are not exactly a one-income family, we are grateful for Evan's job and for Evan being valued for his work. We look forward to working with the folks that have already moved out to LA and having them over for spaghetti and meatballs (for which I am justifiably famous) and inviting ourselves over to swim in their pools.
I am enjoying Smallville immensely. I do have two sons, you know. Perhaps you have heard my drunken speech about how nobody loves Superman until one has a son, and then all of a sudden Superman is The. Best. He is honorable, he is good, he is smart, and he loves his mom. After years of being an alternate comics fan, and the after going to work for a mainstream comic company, I went through a short Batman phase, but am now stunningly and encompassingly in love with Superman, the superhero I hope to parent someday.
But I also have a husband. Maybe I've talked about him before? He carried the reputations of heroes on his back. He guards their appearances. In my maudlin life, he is my superhero. He's my best friend, my one, my only, and the one human being that I will follow anywhere. He is the kindest and sharpest parent I know, and I learn from hm every day. I trust in him and I love him. And he doesn't even need to fly.
