Feeling a little damp in my basement.

And not in a good way!

I spent all day today online sussing out damage from Hurricane Irene. I feel bad for the buyers of our house; since I bet they've been sweeping water into the sump pump for hours.

We spent most of the day inside. We're having a heat wave here in Burbank. It's been 100-113 degrees here during midday, and basically you need to stay inside until the sun gets past 45 degrees off the horizon.

But Oscar had a playdate with his new bestie Conner (3 hours of Pokemon, with a slight break for lunch) and then lovely DC friends invited us over for a dip in their pool (plus burgers!) and we managed to exhaust the kids. We came home at 7:30, wrangled the kids into bed, and spent a lovely 3 episodes of Boardwalk Empire organizing our library (Evan) and organizing 3 boxes of crap into one box of sentimental stuff (KSP, CBM, ALM, and DC business cards, buckslips, and notepads), one box of trash, and one to go to the local used book shop.
