Okay, so we've had a grand total of NO entries in my little contest, kids, Come on, people! I will extend it throughout the holiday weekend. Whoever gets the most companies gets something awesome from our stash. People, you can't tell me that the most casual friend wouldn't be able to guess a few. So guess what our jobs were and get an awesome prize! Family is not excluded!
In other news, we've welcomed our first guests. Evan's mom and her husband, our beloved Gretta (Grandma-Loretta) and Papa Jim (Oscar just started calling him that at around age three). I was a little leery of them flying into Burbank at 6:30 pm, aka dinnertime-bath-book-bedtime. But they showed up and the kids were CRAZY all over them. I was amazed at how much my kids were THRILLED to see people they knew from before the move, and especially their beloved grandparents. Perfectly-chosen presents were given, many stories were read (holy bejebus was I happy for reinforcements to fill in for my nightly reading of A Very Hungry Caterpillar.
We had a lovely child free dinner, which as the first in a long time where our dinner conversation didn't consist of "Blargh. Kids? School?" "Blargh. Work good. Kids good. Blargh." "Blargh. Kids school work good. Blargh."
Looking forward to a fun weekend with our family. Don't you want to spend your weekend figuring out my contest?
