Pictures of the walk to school.

Not a lot of editorializing today, just a lot of pictures.

Here's Arlo and Lucy starting off on our walk to pick up Oscar at school. Arlo and Oscar get dropped off by Evan at 8:15 and he makes in home in plenty of time to have a bowl of cereal with Lucy and a cup of coffee with me. He then takes off for his grueling 2-mile, 8-minute commute to work.

Arlo gets picked up at school at 11:38. We go home, have lunch, do homework. Then back to school at 2:40 (1:50 on Tuesdays) to pick up Oscar.

This is my favorite house in the neighborhood. It's owned by a kindly old guy that seems to have a inexhaustible supply of "World's Best Grandpa" shirts. It just went for up for rent and I told him to keep us in mind if he wants to sell in two years!

Lots of big walls here. Between 8-foot walls and the ability to park anywhere anytime, it's a big difference between the zoning-happy towns of Maplewood/South Orange.

Here's the school and the kindergarten playground to the side. Oscar's playground is in the center courtyard of the school (as is the cafeteria -- there is a small interior kitchen but the kids eat lunch outside).

Lots of weird plants on the way home. Grapefruit plants, lemon and limes, and these cute little ornamental oranges.

Home sweet home.

It's nice to have roses and hydrangeas in October. It's even nicer to have a landscaping services that take care of them.

Front door and side door (to the kitchen). Interior shots and backyard shots to come soon!
